Miss Aniela is someone who I have admired for a long time I have two of her books. She started out as a self portrait photographer and is now massive in the surreal high art fashion photography world.
Here are some of my favorite images of hers
This image is called ‘Half Life’
I really love nudes in scenes especially uncomfortable, grimy scenes. I like the exposed feeling. I really love abandoned places, asylums, hospitals, schools, houses, ships…
These are some of her levitation images, something that I would like to try..
Multiplicity is something I have really taking an interest with from Miss Aniela here is my first out of about 15 images I have since done, funny my first is probably my favorite.

Away With the Canaries by Miss Aniela

What I love about miss Anielas work is that it is has a high technical quality to it. It is also very planned and thought out. It has a fantasy element to it. I also like how she keeps it real the edits are just enhancements to what the natural eye would see.
Another one of my favorite artists is Gregory Crewdson. I have watched an interesting documentary on how he produces his works which have a huge amount of money put into them. They are like film stills so much planning and people involved.
What I like about his work is it is dreamy, real, raw, clear, extremely detailed.. everything has been attended too and thought out. It is technically amazing. It is also very haunting and surreal.
I love Alex Stoddards work, he started at only 17 and is incredibly talented. He also started like Miss Aniela with self portraiture.
This is one of my all time favorite images. I know it is contrived, but I like that… the effort involved in it, placing the human body in an unreal situation.
I love the human body naked and bare in nature this is another amazing image.. called the burial. I have taken influence from it in the past with this one of my own images –
This is one of Alex’s more recent works, I really love it… Its raw and full of emotion. Its also dark a way of releasing inner demons.
Another influential photographer of mine,
“Modern Man” I really like the concept of this work. I enjoy people getting wet in interesting surreal situations. I also like the title of this work, titles really add to the work in my opinion. I like to have titles. I often forget of leave them, I would like to make sure with my fine art works I always have titles.
Again more water themed images I do like them, I really enjoy the surreal, constructed situations. I also like a bit of blood.. I like expressing my dark side.
Laura Makabresku is my current favorite artist at the moment. Here is a link to her blog:
She also has a Facebook page I like the name of that…

What I like about Lauras work is it is deep, exposed and sad. It has a vulnerability to it which I can relate to. I like the soft tones in it and the cool feel. It is sharp and sometime macabre, with the use of blood and the references to death.
So here are some of the photographers I already know about and love, time to do deeper into why I like who I like and take parts from each.
